Here Comes the Arm: The D-Day Invasion
The date was June 6, 1944. After months of planning and training, the day finally came. 150,000 troops, half of which from America, stormed the beaches of Normandy. Heavy fire from ships backed up the troops, and three divisions of paratroopers rained down from the skies. By the end of the initial launch day, the Allied forces held ground on the beaches. They would continue pushing inwards, punching a hole in Nazi defences and forcing back the German Army.
